Explore magnificent historic houses, castles and gardens, discover the world-famous Ironbridge and its museums, or enjoy one of the many family attractions nearby. For those who prefer the great outdoors, walking and cycling routes pass close to the cottages, while the River Severn offers wonderful opportunities for fishing, canoeing and even an organised rafting adventure.

Shropshire’s unique geology has shaped a remarkably varied landscape, creating diverse habitats and an abundance of wildlife. As you explore the countryside, keep your eyes open for otters, kingfishers, birds of prey, badgers, foxes and deer, all of which have been spotted by guests during their stays with us.

And when it comes to walking, you really are spoilt for choice. Step out from your cottage and enjoy an abundance of peaceful, traffic-free walks, follow the River Severn and explore the surrounding countryside, or venture further afield into the spectacular Shropshire Hills. For something, a little gentler, spend a leisurely day strolling beside the Shropshire Union or Llangollen canals.

Whether you spend your days discovering Shropshire’s fascinating past, walking through beautiful countryside, exploring by bicycle or simply slowing down beside the river, it’s a wonderful place to switch off, breathe deeply and reconnect with the people you love. Return at the end of the day to the comfort of your cottage, feeling restored and rejuvenated, with new memories to take home and treasure.

Puddle Duck Cottages are tucked away at The Tuckies, a peaceful hamlet on the eastern edge of Jackfield, approximately one mile downstream from Ironbridge and directly across the River Severn from the historic village of Coalport.

There are services from Telford, Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury. Check www.arrivabus.co.uk or www.telfordpublictransport.co.uk for details and timetables. The nearest bus stop is located on Calcutts Road which is approximately 15 minutes walk from the cottages
