We are super proud to announce that at the DogFriendly Awards 2024, held at the prestigious Kennel Club, London, Puddle Duck Cottages were named as the Gold Winner for the Most Dog Friendly Cottages and Self-Catering for the third consecutive year.

The DogFriendly Awards are an opportunity to be recognised as a dog friendly place and a pet business that goes that extra mile for the benefit of the U.K’s 12.5 million dogs and their owners. At the awards our category was the most contested and as the winners in each of the categories are chosen by public vote, we are delighted to be awarded such accolade.

In addition to our numerous dog friendly awards, we have been accredited by the National Pet College with their Dogs In Hospitality certificate as hosts who welcome dogs.

We welcome two dogs per cottage FREE OF CHARGE, both Puddle Duck Cottage and Duckling Cottage have their own private securely fenced gardens, Puddle Duck Cottage has the largest back garden with lawn area.

On arrival our visiting hounds are welcomed with their very own hamper which consists of:

• Bowls
• Treats
• Toy
• Poop bags
• Blankets for cuddles on the sofa
• Towels
• Local dog walk guides

There's lots of snoutastic traffic-free walks directly from the door, a fabulous choice of dog friendly pubs, restaurants and cafes less than five minutes’ walk away, that just so happen to serve great dog biscuits too!

On days when it’s a bit muddy, when you’ve been for a swim in the river or if like our Bertie absolutely love a good old fashion roll in muck! You will find in each cottage our “Woofers Wash Stations” providing hot and cold showers outside and also a Mud Daddy portable dog wash.

The Severn Gorge Countryside Trust manages 260 hectares of the landscape of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, which includes stunning wildflower meadows, tranquil woodlands, fascinating historic remains,  awe inspiring views and over 25 kilometres of footpaths.  All of our land is open to the public 365 days a year.  See here for a selection of some of the sites you can explore.

Although we may be dog friendly we are also keen to emphasis the fact that many of our guests that stay at the cottages don't have pets. We have gained numerous non dog friendly awards for our luxury self-catering cottages, the most recent was LUXlife Travel & Tourism Awards for Luxury Hidden Gem of the Year 2025.
